Happy Valentine’s Day! While working on a fun new party I’ll be sharing at the upcoming Friends Women’s Retreat, I had an idea for a quick DIY placemat for Valentine’s Day. I don’t have a romantic date tomorrow night, but the next best thing..dinner with my niece and nephews. I made these doily placemats in under 30 minutes using items from my craft closet.
I am sure my niece will be the only one thrilled with these placemats. We will have our special ones under our plates. Her brothers, well not for them, I am sure! It is fun to see Valentine’s Day through my niece’s eyes. Excitement and anticipation for a fun day with friends. Valentine’s to be exchanged and candy to indulge in. A day filled with love and celebration.
She is writing a short story to read in class- The Perfect Valentine. I can’t wait to read it tonight!
You don’t have to spend a lot of money to add sweet touches to your table. To make these you need a set of alphabet stamps, red ink and doilies. Don’t have stamps? Write in red ink!
Stamp the doily with a fun Valentine’s Day phrase. I used a red ink pad, but pink ink would work too.
I pulled out a few of my heart stamps and found a LOVE stamp in my stash. I used the hearts to stamp the bottom of the wooden utensils. This is a craft I will do again with Livi. I know she would have fun creating personalized placemats for every season!
