I was thinking about how dad made time to be with

I was thinking about how dad made time to be with Rob and I. He would take me to see movies and Rob to comic cons. Memories of being around the pool on vacation and trips to the mountains.

Some of my favorite times were standing in the dark room helping develop pictures. Old school style. The magic of seeing an image appear on the photo paper after dipping it in these solutions. Then hanging them up on a clothesline to dry.

It’s been a long time 24 years since we had him with his. But this year after Mom joined him in heaven I’ve been thinking about him more. Grateful for the time we had with him. #fathersday

We just got back from an awesome staff retreat in Palm Spring. Perfect mix of inspirational talks, team times and free time to hang out by the pool and fire pits for great conversations. Barely took a photo but went to lunch at The Farm and had the best food with great company!!

One year since we said goodbye for now to Mom. It

One year since we said goodbye for now to Mom. It went by so fast. We miss her so much, but I am grateful we made spending time with family and building memories a priority. You have to fight for it sometimes and not put it off. But it’s those times that remain etched in our memories and leave a legacy. She loved her family and cherished her friendships. It still is shocking how we were eating dinner and three days later she was gone. Our days our numbered and we aren’t guaranteed tomorrow . Make the call, send the text, fight for the time. You will never regret it!

Fun dinner with Livi at Ospi in Venice! It is a block off the the beach- a great new find!! Delicious food and a beautiful night at the beach. She is one month away from finishing her first year. You blink and another year has passed. It has been fun exploring Venice and Marina del Rey on my visits. The beach is my happy place - hers too! After months of rain blue skies and sunshine are a blessing!!!

Yesterday Joy’s@mom Chris (and Monica and Leanna’s mom) passed after a very long cancer fight. I was thinking about how long she had been part of my life. I must have been in my early 20’s when we first met. We have spent years sitting together watching the games, graduations and plays. For many years we met up at Robs to watch the kids open up their presents. She was full of personality and passion. She fiercely fought cancer for I’m not even sure how long but it feels like decades. She raised identical triplets which is not for the faint of heart in a time where triplets were rare.

Last year she hosted us for Easter and I love this pic of she and mom with the grandkids. She will be missed!!!

Dallas has been so fun. Spending time with my long

Dallas has been so fun. Spending time with my long time friend Deanna of which we took no pics:( then today Luke and I explored the Dallas Farmers Market which is amazing and had lunch in this great food hall adjacent to it. Then we went to The Kennedy memorial- so interesting and well done! Hailey joined us for dinner at RH, which is a super cool restaurant with delicious food. We saw so many cute neighborhoods and streets. It’s a great place to be in your 20’s!! One more day of exploring tomorrow! So good to spend time with them #auntadventures #uptowndallas

The end of week 1 of my sabbatical was a meaningful one, celebrating two friends birthdays. Friendships that have lasted the test of time. Laughter, great food and lots of sparks…we may have almost started a fire when it dropped on the carpet last night😅. #friendship #birthdays

This week we filmed our new small group study Resilent Faith. Several Eastsiders shared about spiritual practices they use and how it has impacted their faith. Each one was filled with so much wisdom I can not wait for it to launch in early February. Jake and Diana will guide us through 8 different ways to engage with God. Love my job and blessed by the people who were willing to share!

Another year and what a year it was. These friends, we all met in our thirties at Mariners. We have celebrated, mourned and cheered each other on through the ups and downs of life. So much of it has happened around a table. This year most of all I am grateful for how they carried me through with calls, prayers and just being present when things are hard. #friendships #birthdaywishes

Happy Birthday Rob!!!! On this first of many first

Happy Birthday Rob!!!! On this first of many firsts facing us this fall I think of how proud Mom was of you and what a great dad you are. I won’t be helping her try to type a Facebook post that would have taken all day to do:) she would lose it, cry out “Cheri it took away my post” and we would start again.
I finally found the courage to crack open the boxes of photos to find some new gems to share from our childhood.
I’m sacrificing my own vanity to include the poolside shot from one of your first vacations and the start of your love off handing out by the pool. Love you and hope you have a wonderful day!
